William Morris Huffstutler, age 73, of Hot Springs, AR, formerly Kennett, MO, passed away (Wednesday,) August 5, 2026.

Morris was born August 27, 1952, in Kennett, MO. Preceding him in death were his parents, Adolph and Mildred Huffstutler.

Morris began his faith journey as a Methodist. During high school, however, he began singing in the youth choir at First Baptist Church of Kennett where he was saved and baptized. He later joined the First Christian Church of Kennett where many good friends were made. Several years ago, he made the choice to rejoin Kennett First Baptist.

He proudly served as a quartermaster in the US Navy during the Vietnam era after a brief time at Southeast Missouri State University. Morris spent his working years as an over-the-road truck driver, eventually retiring from FedEx.

In his younger years, Morris enjoyed playing baseball and football. He was also an exceptional swimmer, spending several years as a lifeguard at Kennett’s old municipal pool. In addition to athletics, he was very active in his high school drama department. In later years, he spent lots of time on the golf course; and more recently you might’ve found him among some wonderful friends at Rock Steady Boxing in Hot Springs, AR. He loved traveling and taking vacations of any sort -as long as it was to a beach! Morris’s greatest joy, however, was spending time with his children and grandson.

Most will remember Morris for his infectious laugh and unique sense of humor. He could also be a bit mischievous! His friendships were made quickly and lasted a lifetime. Morris was kind, authentic, and always willing to serve others.

Morris leaves behind his loving wife of nearly 30 years, Christi; sons Chris of Dallas, TX, and Chase (Amanda) of Nashville, TN; step-daughter Paige McCormick, of Kennett, MO; grandson Oliver Huffstutler of Nashville, TN; sisters Linda Holt of Sikeston, MO and Beverly Vandyke of Blytheville, AR; bonus sister, Sandra Spain of Wappapello, MO; many other relatives and friends. Morris would also want to include a special nod to “The Round Table,” aka The Liars Club.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be sent to First Baptist Church of Kennett, MO, or Rock Steady Boxing of Hot Springs, AR.
