Obituary

Virginia Lee Swindle, age 98, of Senath, Missouri, formerly of Kennett, Missouri, passed away on
Monday, January 26th, 2026, at Heritage Nursing Home in Kennett, Missouri. Ms. Swindle was
born May 13th, 1927, to the late Edgar and Emmaline Young in Monette, Ark.
She held many jobs growing up. She was a licensed EMT in her earlier days, worked at the
nursing home in Senath, Missouri, was a deputy for the Sheriffs department in Dunklin County
for a short while, and drove herself from Senath to Kennett everyday for 22 years from 1996-2018 working at Wal-Mart in Kennett
until she retired at age 91.. But I would say she was always a hard working person whatever
task she took on. She grew up a sharecropper's wife and worked in the fields chopping and
picking cotton. She was known in the County to be able to pick the cleanest rows in Dunklin
County and would average over 350 pounds per day.
Virginia was always kind and always took up for the underdog. If you ask her she would always
say there is good in everyone, you just had to look for it. Most important she professed to be a
Christian first, and Baptist Church affiliated second.

She is survived: by her Sons, Danny and Debra Brown of Troy, Mo., Gary and Karen Brown of
Kennett, MO, Paul Young, half Brother of Kennett, MO. and Jerry Young, half brother, of Holcomb, MO,and
Deanna Street, half sister, from Jonesboro, Ark.

Scripture: Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. And if I go and
prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there
ye may be also. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know. Thomas saith unto him, Lord,
we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? Jesus saith unto him, I am
the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:1-6
