Virginia (Ginny) Noreen Branum, 82, of Jackson, Tennessee, passed away on Monday, January 15, 2024.
Ginny was born on December 24, 1941, to the late John and Nell Vardell of Kennett. Ginny was an ambitious and spirited young lady, who was an active member of the Girl Scouts and band. She enjoyed raising chickens and using her creative spirit to contribute to her community. She graduated from Kennett High School in 1959. Ginny was united in marriage to the love of her life, Milt Branum, on January 2, 1960. They were blessed with three children: Amber Gay, Kerry and Barry. Ginny spent her life raising her children and supporting her husband in his many business ventures and career as a banker. She was an avid supporter of the St.Louis Cardinals and loved traveling. She was a garden enthusiast and dedicated her passion to numerous local garden clubs throughout Missouri and in Tennessee and was recognized with awards for several of her floral arrangements and creations. Beyond her love for gardening, Ginny enjoyed decorating and crafting in all forms, as well as shopping for antiques.
Ginny was a member of the Church of Christ in Trenton, Tennessee upon moving to Tennessee in 2019.
Ginny is survived by her two sons, Barry Milton (Helen) Branum of Humboldt, Tennessee, and Kerry Dean (Linda) Branum of Missouri, and sister Hallie Vardell of Round Rock, Texas. She was the grandmother to six grandchildren: Justin (Angelica) Branum of Nashville, Tennessee; Brittany (Ben) King of Jackson, Tennessee: Emily (Marco) Paunovic of Missouri: Abigail Branum of Missouri; Haley (Brad) Stafford of Humboldt, Tennessee and Joe Garrett Branum of Humboldt, Tennessee. Ginny leaves behind six great grandchildren: Olivia and Oliver King of Jackson, Tennessee, Oliver Paunovic of Missouri, Arthur Hoopes of Missouri: Emmett and Everett Branum of Nashville, Tennessee. Ginny will also be greatly missed by her four-legged companion and best friend, Bella.
Ginny was preceded in death by her husband: Everett Milton Branum; her parents: John and Nell Vardell; a daughter: Amber Gay Branum; and a brother: Ernie Vardell.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, January 19, 2024 at Dunklin Memorial Gardens in Kennett, Missouri with Pastor Brent Smith (Trenton, Tennessee) officiating.
