Velma Dean Watson, was born in Greenway, Arkansas on March 5, 1929 and departed this life on February 13, 2023 at the age of 93 years, 11 months and 8 days.. She was the youngest daughter of the late Jacob and Lulu Mae Carey. She was preceded in death by her husbands: Ben Worley and James "Dud" Watson.  Velma was kind, caring and compassionate. she was a devoted Mother, dearly loved by both friends and family,and a devout Christian who dedicated her life at an early age to the Lord.

Children include:

Three sons: John (Kathy) Worley;

Jim (Carol) Watson;

Dan (Paula) Keen;

Two daughters: Linda Arnett;

Reba (Terry) Brown;

Eddie Watson and Billie King who preceded her in death;

Grandchildren: Bryan Arnett, Brandy (Jason) Allison, Jimmy (Lori) Williams, Darrell (Elba) Watson, and Terry (Dana) Watson, Eddie Jr. and Gary Watson;

Great-Grandchildren: Mason, Murphy and Mali Arnett, Emma Gayle and Watson Allison, John Thomas (Hope) Wofford, Nash Winters, Paige (Greg) Gee, Elisabeth Flores Watson, Jaydyn Watson, Tiffany (David) Patterson, Megan (Anthony) Weaver, Amber (Zeke) Pirtle, and Ashley Watson;

Great-Great-Grandchildren: Mattie Kay Wofford, Kamryn, Madilyn and Everett Gee, Kobe, Luke, Dyson and Gunnar Patterson, Laken and Sutton Weaver.

Velma was of Kennett, Missouri formerly of West Memphis, Arkansas and passed away in Kennett.

Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Friday, February 17, 2023 at McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett. Graveside services will be 11:00 a.m. at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Kennett, Missouri. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.

McDaniel Funeral Service of Kennett will be in charge of the arrangements.
