Terry Randy Hyde, 63, passed away on August 12, 2026, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Paragould, Arkansas.

Terry had most recently made his home at South Haven Assisted Living in Kennett, Missouri, where, as his health improved, his quiet and helpful nature began to shine through. He enjoyed helping clear the tables after meals and found pleasure in the simple things, especially listening to old country and rock music on his phone. Terry knew what he liked when it came to music, and the newer songs just weren’t for him.

He was a quiet and gentle person with a good nature, sometimes so good that others could take advantage of it. He enjoyed baseball, NASCAR, old Westerns, and the television shows he had watched and loved through the years.

Terry was the son of the late Files Wayne Hyde and Lola Janice Doherty Hyde. He was the father of two children, Randy Joseph and Kimberly Marie, and the grandfather of four grandchildren.

He is also survived by his older siblings, Tammy Hyde Thompson and her husband, Mickael, and Tony Hyde, as well as nieces, nephews, extended family, and others who loved him.

Terry’s later years gave his family some memories they will always treasure. His sister Tammy was blessed to spend many hours talking with him on the phone and, when she was in town, picking him up to go out to dinner or bringing him to stay at their aunt’s house. They spent their time together watching old television shows, playing cards and dominoes, visiting their stepmother, Ida Hyde, and simply enjoying each other’s company. His brother Tony and Tammy did their best to be there whenever Terry called and needed them.

Terry faced struggles during his life, but his struggles were never the whole of who he was. During his time at South Haven, his family had the joy of seeing him sober, healthier, and doing better. Those years gave them a glimpse of the Terry they always knew was there—the quiet brother with a kind heart who loved his family.His family takes comfort in believing that his mother would have been so proud to see how far he had come. The time they were given with Terry, particularly during these last few years, is something they will always be grateful for.

Terry was deeply loved by his family, and he will be greatly missed. They will remember not only the difficulties he faced, but the brother, father, grandfather, and uncle they loved, the laughter and ordinary moments they shared, and the memories that will remain long after his passing.
