Shirley Nell
Shelton
February 16, 1939 – September 7, 2024
On Saturday, September 7, 2024 the arms of Jesus opened and Shirley
Shelton, a godly Apostolic lady, accepted her invitation to come home. She
escaped this life after having her family near her bedside for the final days
on this earth.
Shirley Nell Shelton, daughter of the late Arnold Ben and Effie Norma Little,
was born February 16, 1939 in Guy, Arkansas. She was born again in
February of 1966 when she was baptized in Jesus' name, and filled with the
precious gift of the Holy Ghost. She became a dedicated Christian for the
remainder of her life.
Through her many years as a preschool director and then kindergarten
teacher for 15+ years, Shirley's lasting impact was felt by numerous people
everywhere. Shirley was a genuine lover of people. She never met a
stranger. Her life was a beautiful light that illuminated the lives of all those
who met her.
She leaves her family behind to follow her. Shirley married Donald Wayne
Shelton on July 12, 1956, and created a beautiful life together for 68 years.
Her love for her husband was only surpassed by her tremendous love for
Jesus. She remained faithful to Him until her very last breath.
She is survived by:
Her husband: Donald Wayne Shelton of Kennett.
Daughter: Tamera Lee
Presson "Tammy" and husband Dewayne of Warrenton, Missouri.

leaves behind countless friends and people who admired her charisma and
unsurpassed prayer life. There will never be another woman like her. We
can all count ourselves blessed to have been touched by her in this short
span of life.
Burial will follow directly after the service at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in

Baker, Jonathan Presson, Roger Little, and Gentry Batchelor
