Obituary

Shirley Ann Emery, daughter of the late Bennie Taylor and Effie (Heard) Taylor, was born April 9, 1940, in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas and departed this life on July 21, 2023 at the age of 83 years 3 months and 12 days.

Shirley married Thomas Emery, Sr., he preceded her in death in 2013.

Shirley was of Jonesboro, Arkansas, formerly of Kennett and was a Daycare operator.

Survivors include:

Daughter: Kim Williams of Jonesboro, Arkansas

Four Grandchildren: William Emery of Clarkton, MO., Jamaica Williams of Jonesboro, AR., Alicia Emery of Catron, MO. and Zach Williams of Blytheville, AR. Four Great Grandchildren: Dillon & Dalton Emery and Jersey & Cash Williams.

Shirley was preceded in death by her son: Thomas "Tommy" Emery, Jr., six  sisters: Barbara Gregg, Willine Borgmann, Wanda Andrew, Ruth Calhoun, Patsy Calhoun and Judy Manley and one brother: Billy Taylor.

Visitation will be 11:00 a.m to 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 27, 2023 at McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett. Funeral Services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday at McDaniel Chapel in Kennett.  Pastor Bill Hughes officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett. Pallbearers are: Zach Williams, William Emery, Brad Gregg, Rod Manley, Patrick O'Brien, and David Calhoun. Honorary pallbearers are: Dillon and Dalton Emery.

McDaniel Funeral Service of Kennett will be in charge of the arrangements.
