Obituary

Sharon (Sherry) Deann Graves, 82, of Gobler, Missouri, passed peacefully from this life on October 24, 2025.

Born on August 8, 1943, in Gobler, Missouri, Sherry was the daughter of the late Arvil Hoss Bowie and Prue Bowie of Gobler, Missouri. She graduated from Hornersville High School in 1961 and went on to attend Eagle Beauty School, where she discovered her passion for helping others look and feel their best. She married Royce Graves on August 9, 1964, and welcomed son Marcus Neal Graves in October of 1970.

Sherry was the proud owner and operator of Hair Styling Center in Gosnell, Arkansas, which she opened in the 1980s and lovingly ran for over 40 years. Her salon became more than just a place for haircuts-- it was a gathering space filled with laughter, friendship and care. Many of her clients became lifelong friends, drawn not only to her talent as a beautician but also to her kindness, listening ear and gentle spirit.

In every part of her life, Sherry was known for her kindness, selfessness, and grace. She never had a harsh word for anyone, and she lived each day with gratitude and humility. She found joy in serving others, often putting their needs before her own, and her quiet compassion left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Sherry's faith in God was the steady foundation of her life. She trusted in His goodness and lived with humility, patience and grace. She was not a big talker, but when she spoke, her words carried wisdom, honesty and warmth-- reminding everyone around her of what truly matters.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

Sharon is survived by her son Marcus Graves: her grandchildren Christian and Destiny Graves, Kyle Mabry and two great grandchildren. She also leaves behind two beloved sisters, Sandy Gable of Philadelphia and Gay Herrington of Kennett, Missouri: nieces: Amy Herrington and Heidi Gable: and great-niece Macy Gleisner, all of whom adored her deeply.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hoss and Prue Bowie and her husband Royce (Bud) Graves.

Sherry's life was a reflection of quite faith, unconditional love, and kindness toward others. Though she will be deeply missed, her gentle spirit and the beauty she brought to this world will continue to shine in the hearts of those who loved her.
