Sharon Kay Montgomery, was born July 20, 1952, in Kennett, Missouri to the late Arvel Carnell and Katie Taylor Carnell and departed this  life on August 31, 2026, at the age of 74 years 1 month and 11 days. Sharon had served as  the Director of the Kennett OAKS Nutrition Center in Kennett.

Sharon married Joe Montgomery on April 23, 1971 in Wardell, Missouri.

Son: Jason Montgomery of Kennett

Daughter: Tara (Tommy)  Crafton of Kennett

Two grandchildren

Brother: Tony Carnell of Kennett

Other relatives and many friends

Sharon was preceded in death by her brothers: Kenneth, William, Phil and Arvel Carnell and sisters: Elizabeth Jarrett and Nancy Parker.

Visitation will be 12 noon to 2:00  pm Friday, September 4, 2026 at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm at the McDaniel Chapel in Kennett with David Carnell officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett. Honored to serve as pallbearers: Jonathan Crafton, Conley Wilkinson, Steve Smith, Roger Smith, Donald Jones, Fred Parker, Brandon Smith and Mark Carnell.

McDaniel Funeral Service of Kennett will be in charge of the arrangements.
