Sally Kathern Marchbanks, age 95, formerly of Gideon, Missouri passed away September 29, 2023 at Stonebridge Senior Living  in Marble Hill, Missouri.

Sally was born May 8, 1928 in Braggadocia, Missouri, to the late Mack Hargrove and Grace L. Hargrove.

On March 18, 1949, Sally married James Richard Marchbanks. James preceded her in death on May 4, 2011.

Sally was a loving wife and mother, and an excellent seamstress. She designed and sewed many one-of-a-kind prom dresses and cheerleading outfits for the young ladies in Gideon, Mo. She was also well known for her skill in pulling cotton trailers from the fields to the cotton gin. She and James were foster parents for many years after their own children were grown. Following their retirement from farming, she and James developed their dancing skills and enjoyed many evenings dancing with their friends. Sally was a member of The First Baptist Church in Gideon, Mo.

Survivors include:

One daughter: Kathy Marchbanks of Hamptonville, NC

Two sons: Don (Pat) Marchbanks of Salesville, AR

Ron (Verrell) Marchbanks of Advance, MO

One brother: Jerry Paul Hargove of Lakeview, AR

Eight grandchildren: Katie Steelman, Chris Milligan, Jimmy Don Marchbanks, Angie Slayden, Barb Shepherd, Stacey Becker, Crystal Huene and Alex Marchbanks

14 Great Grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James, and her brothers, Jake Hargrove, Earl Mack Hargrove and Bill Hargrove.

Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m., Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.  Graveside Services will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett.

McDaniel Funeral Service of Kennett will be in charge of the arrangements.
