Rusty
Dogan
August 25, 1955 – April 2, 2026
Jerry Russell "Rusty" Dogan, age 70, of Senath, MO, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2026, at the Advanced Care Hospital of White County, Searcy, AR.
Rusty was born August 25, 1955, at Grenada County Hospital in Grenada, MS, to Jerry and Ollie Dogan. He was a 1973 graduate of Grenada Lake Academy in Gore Springs, MS, where he was Mr. Grenada Lake Academy, Senior Class President, as well as an esteemed athlete, playing both football and baseball throughout his high school career. Rusty had an impeccable work ethic, and from an early age he knew he would carry on the family tradition, so the majority of his life was spent behind "the wheel of a big truck." He was also an excellent tractor/diesel mechanic and had a knack for fixing just about anything. He was a real "MacGyver" of his generation.
On weekends, Rusty could be found pacing the floor in front of the TV, watching football or Nascar. Most of all, Rusty loved people. He never met a stranger and would sit and talk with anyone about anything. His greatest legacy is his family, which includes his wife of 50 years, 4 children, 14 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and the multitude of others whose lives he touched.
Rusty is preceded in death by his father, Jerry Kerr Dogan of Grenada, MS. He is survived by his wife, Mary Frances Lee Dogan of Senath, MO; one daughter, Tara Dawn Dogan (Terrygene Letson) of Red Onion, MO; and three sons: Jeremy (Bridgett) Dogan of Leachville, AR; Quinn (Felicia) Dogan of Cotton Plant, MO; and Jake Dogan (Emily Harris) of Blytheville, AR.
He is also survived by 14 grandchildren: Chaz Starr (Drew Edwards) of Manila, AR; Ginia Starr (Skye La Monico) of Brookland, AR; Drew and Dax Dogan of Leachville, AR; Eli Dogan of Cotton Plant, MO; Spencer Goff of Hornersville, MO; Jena Dogan of Kennett, MO; Drake and Harper Dogan of Senath, MO; and Keegan Riddick, Beckham Gentry, and Harlow, Evie, and Wills Harris of Blytheville, AR; along with 4 great grandchildren: Lankston of Brookland, AR; and Reagan, Sylvee, and Baby Salem of Manila, AR.
He is further survived by his mother, Ollie Simmons Dogan of Grenada, MS; one brother, Allen (Carole) Dogan of Tillatoba, MS; one sister, Lee (Rodney) Murphy of Grenada, MS; along with many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends he called family.
Rusty was always dressed in overalls and work boots and appreciated hard work, honesty, and the value of a man's word. To his children, he made sure to instill these values. To his wife, he was loving and caring and made her his top priority. To his grandchildren, he was playful and always made them laugh. To his friends, he was a prankster and a prophet.
A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday, April 9, at 7:00 pm at McDaniel Chapel in Senath, with Rev. Doug Clinton officiating. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm. McDaniel Funeral Service will be in charge of these arrangements.
An additional Life Celebration will be held on Sunday, April 12, 2026, starting at 2:00 pm at Tillatoba Baptist Church in Tillatoba, MS, with Rev. Ricky Harris officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, where Rusty's granddaughter, Ginia Starr, is a surviving patient.
McDaniel Funeral Service of Senath is in charge of the arrangements.
