Ray Allen
Crawford
June 5, 1946 – August 19, 2025
Ray Crawford, lovingly known as "Poppy," went home to be with the Lord on August 19, 2025. He was born on June 5, 1946, to Rebus and Bessie Crawford, and he lived a life defined by kindness, faith, and an ever-present smile that could light up any room.
Ray was a devoted family man, finding his greatest joy in the love he shared with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He leaves behind two loving children who stood faithfully by his side and carry on his legacy of keeping family first—Cindy Wake (Chris Wake) and Tim Crawford (Becky Crawford).
To his grandchildren—Jordan (Nick Loebach), Taylor (Tab Wildy), and Kinley Crawford—Poppy was a hero, a gentle guide, and their biggest cheerleader. He never missed an opportunity to show up for their activities, whether it was a ballgame, recital, or school event, always there with a proud smile and a word of encouragement. His great-grandchildren—Wren Michael Loebach, Maxwell Wildy, Whitten Loebach, Macklyn Wildy, and Wakely Loebach—kept him laughing and filled his days with joy as he loved hearing about their adventures and daily stories.
Ray's love for life extended beyond his family. He was a proud fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and NASCAR, rarely missing the chance to cheer on his favorites. For many years, Ray could be found at Baker Implement, where he worked with the same warmth and smile that made him beloved everywhere he went.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joyce Crawford, his brother, Bennie, and his sister, Vonnie. Though his passing leaves a deep ache in the hearts of those who loved him, his life will always be remembered for his unwavering faith, his laughter, and the love he poured into his family.
Ray Crawford's legacy is not only in the memories he created but in the love he instilled in his family—a love that will continue to grow for generations to come.
