June 14, 1922 – December 5, 2020
Peggy Shipman, 98, of Kennett, Missouri, having fulfilled her earthly purpose, traveled on into eternal life on December 5, 2020 very peacefully at the home of daughter and son-in-law Charlotte and James Lindsey, surrounded by her family. She was wonderfully and beautifully made born June 14, 1922 in Kennett, Missouri to the late Zennie Mead and Nora Adcox Mead. Peggy married J. C. Shipman on March 22, 1942 in Caruthersville, Missouri.
Peggy was preceded in death by her husband J. C. Shipman, son Larry Shipman, granddaughter Cindy Reagan, great-granddaughter Olivia Davis, son-in-laws Jerry Davis and Larry Webb, three brothers Ed Mead, Elmer Mead, and J. A. "Mousie" Mead, and three sisters Zepha Noland, Rose Blankenship and Opal Mead.
Survivors include: Four daughters Sharon Webb of Citrus Springs, Florida, Charlotte Lindsey and James of Rector, Arkansas, Carla Buckhannan and Carl of Collinsville, Illinois, and Linda Davis of Kennett, Missouri, and daughter-in-law Amy Shipman of Cordova, Tennessee.
Ten grandchildren, several great and great-great grandchildren. Other relatives and many friends.
Peggy was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Kennett, Missouri.
The family request memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
A private family service will be held.
