Morris Ken Raspberry, son of the late C.A. (Clyde) Raspberry and Mary (Mumma) Raspberry, was born August 24, 1937 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri and departed this life on January 14, 2022 at the age of 84.

Morris was raised in Holcomb, Missouri and graduated from Holcomb High School.  He then attended the University of Missouri in Columbia, earning his Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.  He was an active member of Pi Kappa Alpha fraternity during his years at Mizzou.

Upon his college graduation Morris joined the United States Navy.  He attended officer candidate school and later served as an engineering officer aboard the USS Helena CA-75 in San Diego, California.  It was in San Diego where Morris met his wife, Verna Nancy (Bulchik) Raspberry.  She preceded him in death on November 20, 2007.

Upon his discharge from the Navy, they moved back to Kennett and Morris worked at Raspberry Gin Company in Holcomb, Missouri for many years.  He was also a longtime member of the Kennett volunteer fire department.

Morris is survived by his sons Brian (Suzanne) Raspberry of Gulfport, Mississippi and Eric (Tammy) Raspberry of Riverside, Missouri.  Morris is also survived by his grandchildren, Ryan (Erica) Wood of Blue Springs, Missouri, Haley (Pete) Tanuvasa of Independence, Missouri and Amelia (Malachi) Dietz of Plattsburg, Missouri.  Morris had two great-grandchildren, Reece Wood and Waylon Dietz.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask for memorial donations be made to the Kennett Humane Department, 200 Cedar Street, Kennett, Missouri 63857.  Morris's constant companion after his wife's death was his dog, Annie.

A private graveside service will be held on Friday, January 21, 2022.
