Melba Anita Hawkins, daughter of the late Al "Short" and Emma (Richardson) Mize was born October 8, 1922 in Red Onion, Missouri and departed this life at the age of 99 years. Melba married Dalton Carmack who preceded her in death. She later married Thurman Hawkins. He also preceded her in death.

She is survived by:

Nephew: Morris Lambert

Great nieces: Deanna Poe and Heather Styer

Great nephew: Adam Lambert

Several great-great nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

She was preceded in death by a sister: Bernice Lambert.

Visitation will be 9:00 AM until service time at 10:00 AM at McDaniel Chapel in Senath with Reverend Mickey Goodwin officiating. Burial in the Cardwell Cemetery in Cardwell. Honored to serve as pallbearers are: Adam Lambert, Ian Lambert, Ron Styer, Ryley Styer, Trenton Burns, Chris Stoverink and Brentley Hurst.
