Melba Fay Akers, daughter of the late Johnny Scott and Eva (White) Scott was born November 22, 1934 in Kennett, Missouri and departed this life on March 22, 2021 at the age of 86 years and 4 months. Melba married Jimmie Akers on January 6, 1955 in Kennett, Missouri. Jimmie preceded her in death on March 8, 2021.

Survivors include:

Her daughter: Laraine (Kevin) Charles of Kennett, Missouri

Three grandchildren: Jarred (Brandy) Wilkerson, Audra (Bobby) Null and Morgan Storz

Seven great grandchildren: Adrainna, Alexander, Reiah, Cortessa, Lilyan, Brayden and Brock.

Other relatives and many friends.

Melba was of Kennett, Missouri and was a member of Southside Baptist Church.

Visitation will be 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Friday, March 26, 2021 at Southside Baptist Church in Kennett, Missouri. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Friday, March 26, 2021 at Southside Baptist Church in Kennett, Missouri. Reverend Johnny Bogle officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Kennett, Missouri. Honored to serve as pallbearers: Jarred Wilkerson, Bobby Null, Kevin Stephens, David Crow, Tom Wiley and Chris Lytle.
