Mary Jo Ward, daughter of the late James and Edith (Pope) Hooper was born August 11, 1939, in Cardwell, Missouri and passed away December 18, 2020 at her residence in Arbyrd, Missouri at the age of 81 years.

She was married to James Leon Burgess who preceded her in death and later married Richard Ward, who also preceded her in death.

Survivors include:

Three sons: Robert Burgess of Arbyrd, MO

Tommy Burgess and Jan of Hornersville, MO

Mark Burgess and Lori of Arbyrd, MO

Two daughters: Debbie Reed and Allen of Kennett, MO

Zana Burgess of Arbyrd, MO

Three Brothers: Johnny Hooper, Paul Wayne Hooper,  and Wallace Hooper

Five sisters: Dorice Brown,  Tink Bishop, Jane Stanfield, Rose June, and Pam Ray

21 Grandchildren, 38 Great-grandchildren , 3 Great-great Grandchildren,other relatives, and many friends.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Morrison, a brother Sonny Hooper and a grandson, Daniel Bibbs, and a sister, Priscilla

Graveside services will be Monday, December 21, 2:00 P.M. at the Cardwell Cemetery with Rev. Matthew Davidson officiating. Burial will be in the Cardwell Cemetery.
