Mary Sue
Slinkard
April 6, 1927 – January 15, 2021
Mary Sue Slinkard
It is with a mix of sadness and joy that we tell you of the passing of God's servant, Mary Sue (Harris) Slinkard. She was born on April 6, 1927 in Coldwater, MO and left us this day, January 15, 2021, at the age of 93 years, 10 months, and 9 days. Her greatest joys were her family and her church. Mary Sue always had a smile for everyone. If she met you, she's prayed for you. Many do not know, but Mary Sue had a superb alto voice. When she would sing "Oh Holy Night" at each year's Christmas Cantata your heart would swell, and goose bumps would cover your arms.
She is survived by her children: Mary Jean Slinkard Moore (Marcus) of Kennett, MO, Paul Hale Slinkard (Shelley) of Columbia MO, and Judith Ann Slinkard Nangle (Robert) of Lincoln RI. Also, seven grandchildren; Randi Allgood, Andrew Moore, Abby Nangle (Gloria), Emily Nangle, Robert Nangle Jr, Harris Slinkard, and Brady Slinkard, 5 great grandchildren, and dozens and dozens of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 69 years; Gene W. Slinkard (1924-2017), her father and mother; Vander Eason Harris (1892-1962) Delpha Jane Thompson (Harris) (1896-1989) and her seven brothers and sisters; Thomas Beauford Harris (1914-1978), Mary Elnora Harris (1916-1924), Winston Bernell Harris (1919-1986), Imogene Harris (Jones) (1923-2004), Jessie Fern Harris (Buck) (1925-2003), Donald E. Harris (1930-2014), and Jo Ann Harris (Singleton) (1936-2007).
