On April 30, 2022, Mary Sawyer of Kennett, Missouri passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 91 years at St. Bernard Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas with her son Brian at her side. Mary was born December 4th, 1930 to Jim and May Beaver in Puxico, Missouri. Mary grew up in Caruthersville, Missouri and graduated from Caruthersville High School in 1951. She worked at Hayden's Drug Store where she met Jack Sawyer. Mary and Jack were married January 8 ^th , 1956 in Hernando, Mississippi.

Mary had one sister: Hallie Fisher of Kennett, Missouri, two brothers, Bill Beaver and James Beaver of Memphis, Tennessee, one son: Brian Sawyer of Jonesboro, Arkansas, one stepson: Bobby Sawyer of Hot Springs, Arkansas and one stepdaughter: Jackie Rourke of Jasper, Wyoming.

After her husband Jack took a job as a pharmaceutical representative they moved to Jonesboro, Arkansas before moving to Kennett, Missouri in 1971. Mary worked for several years as a secretary at West Elementary School and later as a teacher's aide for the Kennett High School. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Kennett and past member and past president of the Adelphian Club where she was named woman of the year 1974-1975.

Mary is survived by her son Brian, her granddog Daisy who she was crazy about, and many friends.

Memorial Services will be 2:00 p.m.Tuesday,May 10, 2022 at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett, Missouri. Kevin Swain officiating.
