Marjorie
Jackson
December 14, 1926 – January 10, 2022
On the morning of January 10, 2022, heaven welcomed its newest angel, Marjorie "Margie" Jackson, when she passed away at the age of 95.
Marjorie was born the youngest of six children on December 14, 1926, to William Harrison and Arbie Mae (Millikan) Lynn.
While attending Bragg City High School, Marjorie met John "Huel" Jackson and they were joined in marriage on May 6, 1944. They were almost inseparable for the next 76 years.
Marjorie worked full-time while raising her four sons and continued working after they were all grown. She served as the bookkeeper for the East 84 Gin Company for several years. Then in 1964 she went to work at the Dunklin County Division of Family Services. For the next 24 years she served and assisted countless families in Dunklin County. One of her many accomplishments while working for DFS was helping develop the pilot project for the Missouri food stamps program. On December 31, 1988, Marjorie retired as a supervisor for DFS. For many years after, she enjoyed meeting regularly with a group of other DFS retirees.
Marjorie spent most of her life in Kennett, Missouri, where she and Huel were charter members of 3 rd Street Baptist Church. In what little "spare" time she had, Marjorie enjoyed teaching Sunday School, cooking huge holiday meals for her family and doting on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Later in life she also enjoyed traveling to Florida with Huel. She is loved beyond words. Her sweet nature is an inspiration to her family, church, friends and all who were lucky enough to have known her. She will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings, granddaughter Rachel Jackson, son John Allan Jackson, great-grandson Zane Weisser and her husband Huel Jackson.
Marjorie is survived by her sons Larry Jackson (Sharon) of Lilbourn, MO, Darrell Jackson (Sarah) of Rogersville, MO, and Randy Jackson of Kennett, MO; grandchildren John Scott Jackson (Kelly) of Flowery Branch, GA, Kerri Molter of Cumming, GA, Kelley Watson (Ron) of Cape Girardeau, MO, Timothy Jackson (Robin) of Imperial, MO, Wendy Jackson (Rod) of Springfield, MO, Jeremy Jackson of Richmond, KY, Catherine Jackson of Rogersville, MO, Nathan Jackson of Oakley, CA, Brittany Weisser (Jonathan) of Rogersville, MO, Zachary Jackson of McKinney, TX, Elizabeth Hamilton (Luke) of Dallas, TX, and Elijah Jackson of Kennett, MO; great-grandchildren Garrett Watson (Tana), Elaine Jackson, Alex Jackson, Justin Jackson, Tommy Molter, Audrey Molter, Presley Molter, Nick Johnson, Hunter Jackson, Vincent Jackson, Anna Jackson, Turner Jackson, Reed Jackson, Tristan Jackson, Banning McElroy, Lilyan McElroy, Faith Weisser and Hope Weisser.
Visitation will be on Saturday, January 15, from 12 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at McDaniel Funeral Service in Kennett, MO, with the funeral following immediately after visitation. Burial services will be held at Memorial Gardens in Kennett, MO. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Marjorie's memory to the 3 rd Street Baptist Church of Kennett.
