Linda Joann Cook, daughter of the late Charles William "Bill" Cunningham and Annie "Dixie" (Curtis) Cunningham was born June 20, 1957 in Hayti, Missouri and passed from this life at home surrounded by family and friends on April 3, 2026 at the age of 68 years, 9 months and 21 days.
Linda married Lonnie Cook on November 7, 1970 in Portageville, Missouri.
She was a member of the Bush Apostolic Church in Hayward, MO and served in prison ministry at the Pemiscot County Jail and at the Northwest Correctional Complex in Tiptonville, TN for 25 years. Mrs. Linda was known for providing homemade pecan pies and chicken salad sandwiches to the inmates for Christmas. She and her family would also assemble gift bags filled with hygiene items for the inmates. Mrs. Linda was known for leading many of the inmates to Christ with her compassionate spirit and nurturance. Mrs. Linda also enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. She loved family get togethers and decorating for these events. She was known for always making a beautifully decorated birthday cake for all of those she loved.

And a host of nieces, nephews, family, friends, and church family who she loved dearly.
The family also wishes to extend a special thank you to Legacy Hospice, Campbell Healthcare and Senior Living in Campbell, MO, Louise Chunn, Judy Harris, Rhonda Elliott, and Claudia McCaig for their loving and compassionate care.
The family would also like to mention that they found it to be very special that Mrs. Linda Cook accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior on Easter Sunday many years ago and that she passed from this life into her heavenly life on Good Friday.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are: Dylan McCaig, Aubry McCaig, Brayden Cook, Larry Lacey, Darrin Chunn, and Randy Lewis.
Visitation will be held Sunday, April 5, 2026 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at McDaniel Funeral Service. A continued visitation will be held on Monday, April 6, 2026 at 11:00 am with funeral services starting at 12:00 pm at the McDaniel Chapel in Kennett, MO. Services will be officiated by Pastor Dewayne Roberts and Bro. Julian Lerma. Burial will follow at Mr. Zion Cemetery in Steele, MO.
