Lawson Brents, son of the late James Columbus Brents and Dora (Crow) Brents was born May 15, 1927 in Scotland, Arkansas and departed this life on June 6, 2021 at the age of 94 years and 22 days. Lawson married Opal Riggs August 16, 1945 in Piggott, Arkansas. Opal preceded him in death.

Donna (Dennis) Nail of Kennett, Missouri

Six grandchildren: Jeffrey (Malinda) Chailland of Harrisonville, Missouri

Jason (Keri) Chailland of Shawnee, Kansas

Leslie Quarles of Fenton, Missouri

Matthew (Jaime) Brents of Munford, Tennessee

David (Catherine) Nail of Thompsons Station, Tennessee

Amber (Kris) Elliott of Tipton, Oklahoma

Sixteen great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren

Lawson was preceded in death by his son: Michael L. Brents, five brothers: Cleo Brents, Coy Brents, Troy Brents, Fred Brents and Carthal Dean Brents, two sisters: Ozella Freeman and Joy Elliott and great-grandson: Taylor Clark Chailland.

Lawson was of Kennett,Missouri and served his country in the United States Navy. Lawson passed away June 6, 2021 at Flo & Phil Jones Hospice in Jonesboro, Arkansas.

Visitation will be 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Wednesday, June 9, 2021 at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett, Missouri. Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM at the McDaniel Chapel in Kennett, Missouri. Reverend Doug Clinton and Mr. Kelly Wright officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Kennett, Missouri. Honored to serve as pallbearers: Jason Chailland, Kris Eilliott, Matthew, Jackie, and Kerry Brents and Patrick McHaney.
