Obituary

Kenneth Dewayne Johnson, 87 was born in Senath, MO on November 6th, 1937.  He departed this earth on November 18th, 2024.  Kenny was preceded in death by his parents Ode and Ethel Johnson, sister Joyce (Bill) Holifield, Rose Tackeberry, and children Tracy and Chad Johnson.

Kenny is survived by his loving wife of 60 years - Diane, son Ken Johnson (Jodi Felker) of Senath, grandchildren Shelby Landers (Connor) of Sikeston, and Zachary Johnson (Jules Corin) of St. Louis, and brother-in-Law Gerald "Butch" Tackeberry of Mountain Home.  Kenny is also survived by numerous wonderful nieces and nephews and many friends.

Kenny was a devoted, active member of the Senath First United Methodist Church. He was contracted to work with MFA/Shelter Insurance on November 1, 1961 and remained active daily in the office he shared with son, Ken. Kenny was also active in the Senath Lions Club, in which he has been a member since June 3, 1964.

Kenny, along with other community members were instrumental in starting Senath's first ambulance service. Kenny was a Shriner and a Mason.

Kenny loved his family, his church, his work, and his community. He loved his community so much that he waited twenty years to put a "Senath" license plate on his car.

Visitation will be 10:00 AM- 12:00 PM Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at the First United Methodist Church in Senath. Services will be held at 12:00 PM Wednesday, November 20, 2024 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Ron Dunivan and Rev. Mark Kailbourn officiating. Interment in the Senath Cemetery.

Honored to serve as pallbearers:  Jack Holifield, Gregg Holifield, Skip Tackeberry, Devin Fisher, Scott Montgomery, Dustin Hunter, Jason Lynn, Aaron Lynn, Wade Harris, Jonathan Binkard, Will Holifield, Caleb Mcgee.  Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Senath Lions Club, men of the Methodist church, as well as Ronnie Jackson, Bill Lewis, Jamie Montgomery and Greg Gibson.

In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to the Senath First United Methodist Church, The Senath Lions Club, or the Senath Fire Department.
