Johnny Wayne Nelson, age 70, of Kennett, passed away at St. Bernard's Hospital in Jonesboro, Arkansas, February 4, 2023. Johnny was born to the late John Henry and Juanita Mae (Estes) Nelson May 3, 1952 in Kennett, Missouri. Johnny married Dorothy Nelson in 1971.

Johnny is survived by his two children: John and Emily Nelson of Kennett;

Daughter: Laura Carter of Kennett;

Three brothers: Larry Nelson, Paul Nelson and Gary Nelson;

Three sisters: Barbara Scott, Connie Owens and Debra Nelson;

Three grandchildren: Dillion and Dusty Swindle, Tyler and Brianna Swindle and Adelynn Nelson;

Six great grandchildren;

Johnny is preceded by his parents and two brothers Jimmy and Danny Nelson.

Visitation will be 11:00 a.m.to 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 9, 2023 at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m.  Thursday, February 9, 2023 in the McDaniel Chapel with Reverend Waylon Tom officiating. Burial will follow in Gregory Cemetery.
