John Leonard Edmonston, son of the late J. C. Edmonston and Mary Lou (Fields) Edmonston, was born February 2, 1948, in Memphis, Tennessee and departed this life on September 12, 2024, at St. Bernard Medical Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas at the age of 76 years 7 months and 10 days.

John married Becky Bynum on June 4, 1967 in Peach Orchard, Missouri.

John was a member of the Hornersville United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge, Southern Ginners Association, Farmers & Merchants Club and a Veteran of the National Guard.

Survivors include:

His wife: Becky Edmonston of Hornersville, MO.

Two Sons: John Leonard Edmonston II of Hornersville

Aaron Lance (Jackie) Edmonston of Hornersville

Daughter: Becca Christine (Stoney) Cook of Hornersville

Nine grandchildren: Caitlyn Ann Edmonston, John Kyle Cook, Camille Paige Edmonston, Kylie Rebecca Cook, Myra Jane Edmonston, Chloe Faith Edmonston, Sophia Grace Edmonston, Seth Devon Tice and Braden Charles Tice.

John was preceded by his son: Justin Lee Edmonston and sister: Judith Ann Edmonston Branum.

Visitation will be 12:00 to 2:00 pm Sunday, September 15, 2024 at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett, Missouri. Funeral Services will be 2:00 pm Sunday at the McDaniel Chapel with Pastor Alex Palmer officiating. Honored to serve as pallbearers:  John Kyle Cook, Stoney Cook, Jared Gurley, Tommy Gurley, Bruce Boyd and Kevin Bynum. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

McDaniel Funeral Service of Kennett will be in charge of the arrangements.
