John Thomas Crafton, son of the late Thomas and Carnese Crafton was born June 9, 1941 in Gideon, Missouri and departed this life on April 4, 2022 at the age of 80 years, 9 months and 26 days. John married Peggy Louise McCain in Kennett, May 28,1960. They would have celebrated 62 years of marriage next month.

John was a very dedicated family man and lived every day of his life to its fullest. He loved God and his country and took every opportunity to travel. Often, he would take his children and grandchildren with him on his journeys. He enjoyed camping, gardening, fishing and doing puzzles. John disliked cold weather, so he and his wife have spent winters in Florida over the past 15 years where he gained many more friendships. John will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

His wife: Peggy Louise Crafton of Columbia, Missouri

Three daughters: Lisa and Greg Baker, Angie and Steve Lewis and Dana and Todd Howard

Ten grandchildren: Cassandra, Haley, Derrick, Jake, Garrett, Caitlin, Logan, Reese, Riley and Makenzie.

Ten great grandchildren: Devin, Harper, Myles, Oliver, Kennedy, William, Kadie, Taylor, Landon and Ophelia.

Five siblings: Ruby Joyce of Marshfield, Missouri, Charles (Bud) Crafton of Piggott, Arkansas, Stella Lucy of Semmes, Alabama, Joan Brown of Hernando, Mississippi and Frank Crafton of Kennett, Missouri.

Visitation will be 12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 9, 2022 at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett, Missouri. Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 9, 2022 at the McDaniel Chapel in Kennett, Missouri. Reverend Johnny Bogle officiating. Honored to serve as pallbearers: Tim Lott, Jake Crafton, Mike Joyce, Jonathan Binkard, Luke Wall and Matt Wall. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett, Missouri.

McDaniel Funeral Service of Kennett, Missouri will be in charge of the services.
