Joan Payne, daughter of the late James Franklin Henderson and Georgia Josephine (Brewer) Henderson, was born May 30, 1940, in Coldwater, Missouri and departed this life on February 10, 2025, at the age of 84 years, 8 months and 11 days.  Joan married Donald Gene Payne, Donald preceded her in death February 28, 2000.

Joan was the manager of THE HAVEN and  a member of Third Street Baptist Church in Kennett.

Survivors include:

Daughter: Karen George of Jonesboro, Ar

Son: Richard Lee (Joy) Trout of Corinth, Ms

Two grandchildren: Gunnar George of Jonesboro  and Stefanie (David) Mardis of Iowa

One great grandchild: Lexie (Brayden) Doland of Iowa

Brother: Mike (Debbie) Henderson of Sacramento, Ca

Two sisters: Brenda Whitener of Greenbrier, Ar

Linda Hargrove of Paragould, Ar

Several nieces, nephews and cousins, and many friends

Joan was preceded in death by her son: Jason Andrew Payne in 1990, brother: James Henderson and son-in-law: Greg George.

Visitation will be 11:00 am to 1:00 pm Friday, February 14, 2025 at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett. Funeral Services will be 1:00 pm at the McDaniel Chapel with Pastor Mike Henderson officiating.  Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Honored to serve as pallbearers: Robert Smith, Aaron White, Lance Davis, John Whitener, Jim Ingram and Doug Ursery.

McDaniel Funeral Service of Kennett will be in charge of the arrangements.
