Jimmie Murrell Akers, son the late Murrell Akers and Beulah (Wright) Akers was born May 1, 1934 in Kennett, Missouri and departed this life on March 8, 2021 age of 86 years, 10 months and 7days. Jimmie married Melba Akers on January 6, 1955 in Kennett, Missouri .

His wife of 66 years: Melba Akers of Kennett, Missouri

Daughter: Laraine (Kevin) Charles of Kennett, Missouri

Three grandchildren: Jarred (Brandy) Wilkerson, Audra (Bobby) Null and Morgan Storz.

Seven great grandchildren: Lilyan and Brayden Cantrell, Adrianna, Alexander, Reiah and Cortessa Wilkerson and Brock Null.

Other relatives and many friends.

Jimmie was preceded in death by three brothers: John, Bob and Wayne Akers and four sisters: Elizabeth (Libby) Dennis, Cleta Jones, Ruby Burden and Betty Porter.

Jimmie was an employee of Riggs Supply in Kennett, Missouri for 59 years. Jimmie was a member of Southside Baptist Church having served as a deacon and Jimmie served his country in the United States National Guard.

Visitation will be 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Thursday, March 11, 2021 at the Southside Baptist Church in Kennett, Missouri. Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, March 11, 2021 at Southside Baptist Church with Reverend Johnny Bogle officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Kennett, Missouri. Honored to serve as pallbearers: Steve Morgan, Jarred Wilkerson, Bobby Null, David Crow, Kevin Stephen and Tom Wiley. Honorary pallbearers will be Riggs Supply Crew and Kennett Masonic Lodge.
