Other relatives and friends
Jewell was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, with the best interest of others always in mind. She was a reading specialist and taught remedial reading in the Senath-Hornersville School District on the middle school campus for 30 years. She started her career as a teacher even before she had a degree by holding a private kindergarten on the front porch of the family home in the early 60's before kindergartens became a part of formal education. Jewell retired from the school system in 1999. She was a long-time Christian and member of the Cardwell First Baptist Church in Cardwell, Missouri. Jewell was faithful to service in the church, served as Sunday school secretary for many years, and sang in the choir with a beautiful soprano voice. She had a quick smile, a heart for prayer, and an unconditional love for others. Her love for God and family was evident throughout her life.
