Jerry Wayne Laster was born on February 25,1937, to Wiley and Elsie Laster in Steele, Missouri and left this world peacefully the morning of May 16, 2026.  

Jerry was united in marriage to Peggy Laster on January 5, 2006 and shared a love so beautiful.

Jerry served in the United States Navy and enjoyed recounting stories from his time in California. 

Jerry worked at City Light, Gas, and Water starting on October 11, 1982 and retiring in 2007.  In retirement he enjoyed going to flea markets, Danny Williams auction, and playing cards with family and friends.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Peggy.

Step-daughters, Tracie Lucas (Tim) and Casie Larner

Six granddaughters and five grandsons. Many great grandchildren, nephews, and nieces.

Jerry loved his family with his whole heart.  He held close friendships with Bubba and Terry Potts, Matt and Christy Ross, and Joey Hamlett. 

His nephew Roger Short would visit once a week and Jerry looked forward to this time. 

A very special thank you to Legacy Hospice.  Tiffany and Misty could always make him smile. 

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, infant son, daughter Carla Gross, sister Billie Short, and brothers Jay, Jack, and Gene.

There are no services planned at this time.

McDaniel Funeral Service of Kennett will be in charge of the arrangements.
