Jerris Oreta Gibbins, daughter of the late Jessie Buin Grissom and Laura Evlena (Boulton) Grissom, was born January 10, 1935 in Kennett, Missouri, and departed this life on July 18, 2024, at the age of 89 years, 6 months and 8 days. Jerris married J.B. Gibbins. He preceded her in death on January 15, 2005.

Survivors include:

Son: Richard Harris of Kennett

Sister: Linda Jean Shaver of Kennett

Many nieces, nephews and friends

Jerris was preceded in death by her brother: Jessie Gerald Grissom and sister: Venita Ruth Heath.

Jerris was an RN and taught nursing classes.  Jerris was a member of Southside Baptist Church in Kennett.

Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 22, 2024 at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.  Funeral Services will be 11:00 am at the McDaniel Chapel in Kennett. Reverends Doug Clinton and Johnny Bogle will be officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett. Honored to serve as pallbearers: Noble Shaver, Jessie Hopper, Jeffery Haywood, Joshua Haywood, Elizabeth Haywood  and Lance Davis.

McDaniel Funeral Service of Kennett will be in charge of the arrangements.
