Janis Lucille Swift, daughter of the late Glenn L. "Red" Kilburn and Verniece Marie (Hall) Kilburn was born January 1, 1950 in Kennett, Missouri and departed this life on October 17, 2023 at the age of 73 years, 9 months and 16 days, at Heritage Nursing Center in Kennett.

Janis was of Kennett and a member of First Baptist Church in Kennett. Janis was a retired employee of the Missouri Social Services office in Kennett.

Survivors include:

Brother: Glenn Hall Kilburn of Columbia, Mo

Sisters: Karen Wells of Jefferson City, Mo

Debbie Tohlen of McKinney, Tx

Mendy Schmidt of Arnold, Mo.

Two Grandchildren: Keeley Swift of Jonesboro, Ar

Jeremy Swift of Kennett

Five Great grandchildren: Milo and Harper Buchanan, Oliver and Lincoln Crawford and Parker Swift.

Other relatives and friends

Janis was preceded in death by two sons:  John Russell Swift and Stephen Jeremy Swift.

Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, October 20, 2023 at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett. Funeral services will be 12:00 noon Saturday, October 21, 2023 at the McDaniel Chapel in Kennett. Pastor Steven Scherer officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Kennett. Honored to serve as pallbearers: Jeremy Swift, Jeremy Buchanan, Christopher Middleton, Landen Crawford and Dylan Massey.

McDaniel Funeral Service of Kennett will be in charge of the arrangements.
