James Motes, was born to the late Lonnie Motes and Irene (Looney) Motes, on March 5th, 1948, in Mississippi and departed this life on July 31st, 2026, at the age of 78 yrs.

James married Brenda Motes on October 16th 1967, Brenda preceded him in death.

Survivors include:

Two Sons: Johnny (Christy) Motes and James Dale (Ashley) Motes

Brother: Richard (Elizabeth) Motes

Two Grandsons: Carson and Dacota

Two Great Grandsons: Barrett and Christopher

Two Sister-in-law: Sarah Frances Brewer and Rosie Motes

Brother-in-law: Bill Whitworth

Also survived by long time friend, Jerry Wrathers

James was preceded in death by his siblings Johnny Ray, Clarence, Vernon, Mitchell, Fred, David, Wesley, Carolyn and Judy Whitworth

Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 4th at 10 AM at the McDaniel Chapel in Senath with funeral services at 11 AM at McDaniel Funeral Home in Senath, Missouri with Rev. Doug Clinton officiating. Burial will follow in the Cardwell Cemetery. Honored to serve as pallbearers: Carson Motes, Kenny Motes, Glen Scott, Jeff Marble, Dwayne Motes, and Stanley Kersey.

McDaniel funeral of Senath will be in charge of the arrangements.
