James "Jim" Hassell Chailland, Jr. of Wentzville, Missouri, passed away on August 30, 2024, at the age of 82. He was the beloved husband of Connie Chailland (nee: Wall) of Wentzville. He is survived by his two sons, Jaime (Marshall McClure) Chailland of Marthasville, Mo.; Tony (Michelle) Chailland of Rogers, Ark.; five grandchildren, Tanner (Kate) Coyne-Chailland, Brad and Allison Chailland, Jeremy (Kinzie) and Jana Rook; one great-grandchild, Juni Rook; niece and nephew, Kim Long and Mitch Chailland. He is preceded in death by his father, James Hassell Chailland, Sr., mother, LaVennia Earls (nee: Rikard), step-father, AJ Earls, brother, Donald Chailland, sister, Charlotte Gore.
James was born February 28, 1942, in Caruth, Mo., to the late James H. and LaVennia Chailland, Sr. (nee: Rikard).
James was united in marriage to Connie Jo Wall on December 18, 1960, in Kennett, Mo., and to this union two children were born. James worked as a computer programmer for McDonnell Douglas and also was a broker/realtor for Coldwell Banker. James was a little league baseball manager in Lake St. Louis for several years. His hobbies included softball, bowling and playing golf for the Grumpy Old Men golf league in Troy. James will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
