Obituary

Opal Haline (Overall) Julian of Kennett, Missouri passed away peacefully in her home on Tuesday, August 24 th at the age of 103.

Haline was born February 28, 1918 to E.G. Overall and Louella (King) Overall in Holcomb, Missouri where she resided the first part of her life. She was crowned Miss Holcomb as a teenager and soon after caught the eye of H.M. Julian, whom she married in 1944 while he was home on leave from the war. She worked as a hairdresser for many years and owned her own shop for a time. Haline will be remembered as a deeply kind and religious woman. She was a lifelong member of Varner River Baptist Church in White Oak, Missouri. Her dedication to her family as a wife and mother is something that has been admired by all who have known her. Her grandchildren have fond memories of her in the kitchen baking pies and saying that she loved them "a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck". These were just small ways she showed her endless love for her family. Haline's relationship with H.M. looked as though it were written in a storybook, 76 years of marriage and two wonderful children is a life all aspire to have.

Haline is survived by her one son: H.M. "Chip" Julian, and one daughter Judy (Roy) Kent. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Katherine (Justin) Williams, Blake Kent, Hope Julian and Chase Kent; as well as two great-grandchildren: Kayleigh Williams and Hayden Williams.

Haline is preceded in death by her husband: H.M. Julian, one grandson: Chad Edward Julian, six brothers: Virgel Overall, Hallie Overall, Cecil Overall, Hamp Overall, Weldon Overall and Dick Overall: four sisters: Jean Robards, Emma Arlena Overall, Ruth Lorance and Betty Luther.
