H.M. Julian, of Kennett, Missouri passed away Tuesday, August 10 ^th at the age of 100 years. H.M. was born March 21, 1921 to Harve Julian and Dora (Tribby) Julian in Grayridge, Missouri and a former resident of Parma, Missouri. H.M. is remembered as a true American hero, fighting in the South Pacific as a Marine in WWII. When he returned home from war he married Haline Overall, and over the next few years they would go on to have two wonderful children, Chip and Judy. H.M. and Haline's love for their children and each other is one thing that has remained constant for the better part of a century. H.M. was a man of many talents, and after receiving a Bachelors in Vocational Agriculture and Masters Degree in Education from Arkansas State he pursued his Doctorate at the University of Missouri. He later became the Principal at Rector, Arkansas High School and then Superintendent of Schools for Slater School District in Missouri. He then became an Assistant Superintendent in Brentwood, Missouri and Assistant Superintendent for the Special School District of St. Louis County. In his recent years he continued to enjoy attending church at Varner River Baptist Church and having lunch amongst friends at the Kennett Oaks Community Center.

H.M. is survived by his loving wife Haline Julian as well as their one son: H.M. "Chip" Julian and one daughter Judy (Roy) Kent. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Katherine (Justin) Williams, Blake Kent, Hope Julian and Chase Kent, as well as two great-grandchildren: Kayleigh Williams and Hayden Williams. He is preceded in death by two brothers: J.T. and Floyd, three sisters: Anna Barney, May Boone and Iva Hardin and one grandson: Chad Edward Julian.

The family would like to thank the many caregivers that have provided love and care for H.M. and Haline over the years.

Visitation will be 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm Thursday, August 12, 2021 at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett. Funeral Services will be 11:00 am Friday, August 13, 2021 at the McDaniel Chapel in Kennett. Reverend Harold Dunbar officiating. Burial will follow in the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri at 1:00 pm. Honored to serve as pallbearers: Blake Kent, Chase Kent, Kelly Julian, Anson Barney, Anson Lee Barney and Malcolm Street. Honorary pallbearers: Albert Carr, Henry Broglin, Charles Fuller, Jerry Hicks, Terry Fuller, Danny Broglin Dennis Nail, Dale Beaty and Tim Davis.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or Varner River Baptist Church.

McDaniel Funeral Service of Kennett will be in charge of the arrangements.
