Greg Lynn (Major) Payne, 47, of Cordova, TN, passed away on October 25, 2022, at home. Major succumbed to osteomyelitis after battling a 7-year fight with severe burns and a spinal stroke.

Born to Paula (Holmes) Miller (Mark) and the late Danny Lynn Payne, Major was the grandson of the late Joy Wayne and Margie Holmes and the late Hershel and Evelyn Payne. Major will also be missed and loved by his 2 daughters, Joylyn and Journey Payne of the home, his sister Sarah Miller of Memphis, TN, and his "sister-cousin" Autumn Holmes of Kennett, MO. He also leaves many loving friends and relatives.

Major was born in Paragould, AR, and grew up in Rives and Senath, MO. He lived a very adventurous life of farming, going on harvests, operating heavy equipment, driving trucks, and cleaning up after natural disasters. He and his friends could spend hours telling funny stories of their adventures, especially the story of him needing a 9/16" and a jack.

Graveside services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, November 5, 2022 at Senath Cemetery in Senath with Reverend Doug Clinton officiating.

McDaniel Funeral Home of Senath is in charge of arrangements. He loved to wear camouflage or John Deere clothing, and we are requesting that those clothing choices be worn to the service.
