Glenda Willene Taylor, daughter of the late William Henfling and Glennie Henfling Gum, was born on September 3, 1945 in Kennett, Missouri and passed away peacefully, in her sleep, while in the care of her loving daughters on January 20, 2024 at the age of 78 years.
Living on a farm with seven brothers taught Glenda early in life, how to persevere and face life's trials with her chin up. Glenda was a native to Kennett, and it was there that she married Robert Taylor on May 2, 1964.Widowed early in their marriage, Glenda found solace through her brothers and her dear mother who lived just down the street. Later in life, Glenda was engaged to be married and devastated when her finace' passed away suddenly.
Glenda "Granny T" enjoyed gardening and visiting with friends and family. Everyone felt welcome in her home, where there was always a hug and listening ear on her end. Glenda opened her home and heart to countless children in need over the years. She will be remembered by many, as a nurturing mother figure who never passed judgement and was a great listener. Her family was the center of her world. Each child and grandchild felt a deep love from and for her. Her legacy of kindness, acceptance, and love of family will go on with her children and grandchildren. Her family will miss her sweet smile, great sense of humor, and her hugs that were so full of love.
She is survived by her son: Robert (Karan) Taylor
Four daughters: BeLinda (Michael) Hurlburt, Brandy (Emily) Garrett-Pruett, Nadine (Keith) Geer and Crystal Conway.
One brother: Ronnie (Elaine) Henfling
18 grandchildren, Tabatha, Dillon, Brittany, Robert Jr. (BJ), Paige, Corey, Ronny-Kaye, Madeline, Shirley-Kaye, Cody, Piper, Joselyn, Brittany, Alex, Jagger, Olivia, Keaton and DJ.
16 great grandchildren: Selah, Miranda, Alec, Lane, Eleanor, Luke, Genevieve, Calen, William, Clara, Ryann, Mayli, Drew.,Lexton, Kyra and Alisa
Glenda was preceded in death by six brothers: Fred, Jim, Bill, Jerry, Tony and Glen and one granddaughter; Sarah Kay Jones.
Visitation will be 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m Thursday, January 25, 2024 at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett. Funeral Services will be at 3:00 p.m. Thursday at the McDaniel Chapel in Kennett. Reverend Zack Parr officiating. Honored to serve as pallbearers: Michael Hurtburt, Corey Tice, Kaden Taylor, Keith Geer, BJ Taylor and Randy Henfling. Honorary: Jay Burkhart and Dylon Taylor. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett.
McDaniel Funeral Service of Kennett will be in charge of the arrangements.
