Gerald was of Kennett, Missouri, having served his country in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. Gerald served as Dunklin County court reporter before retiring. He was a life-long member of First United Methodist Church and VFW Post 5443 in Kennett, Missouri.
Gerald had many interests throughout his long life, always learning, undoubtedly fueled by a great love of reading. Never a simple person, Gerald found a way to lead a simple life; this to better serve his country, family and the many, many friends he befriended over the years. He loved to cook for others, loved traveling, and was a decent golfer who outlived several foursomes. His advice, although sometimes unsolicited, was always well-intentioned and ultimately understood as valued mentoring.
