Gerald Thomas Hufford, 73, passed away peacefully on the evening of August 5, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

Gerald was born on June 21, 1953, in Bucoda, Missouri, to Geraldine Hufford and the late Tom Hufford.

Known to many as “Jerry,” he found his greatest joy in the simple pleasures of life. Whether he was deer hunting, crappie fishing, or gathered around the table for a family dinner, he was happiest when spending time with those closest to him.

He was a loving father to Paul & Teresa Hufford, Shana Hufford, Tommy Hufford, Jamie & Cameron Starkey, and Summer DiCicco. He swelled with pride over his five grandchildren: Madison, Adrianna, Jas, Braylon, and Conner, who knew him as “Papa.”

Jerry is also survived by his loving mother, Geraldine Hufford; his siblings, Rodger & Sherry Hufford, Jakita & Wyman Lell, Pam McGinty, and Brian & Michelle Hufford; and many nieces and nephews who called him “Uncle Jerry.”

He was preceded in death by his father, Tom Hufford, and his baby sister, Letha Hufford.

Jerry will be remembered for his quiet strength, his love of the outdoors, his dedication to his family, and the countless memories he created with those fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed.

Friends of the family may arrive anytime between 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. for a memorial service on Saturday, August 8 at McDaniel Funeral Service in Senath, Missouri.
