Obituary

George Henry Moore, also known as Buddy, made his transition to Heaven, meeting Jesus healed and healthy, on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at the age of seventy-four.

He was born on April 1, 1950, in Kennett, Missouri to Arvil George "Ty" and Violet Maudie Lorene Moore. As a baby, he was welcomed home by his sister, Linda Sue Moore and not long after, a little brother, Jerry Wayne Moore. They all preceded him in death, but what a reunion they had on Thursday.

Buddy attended Senath-Hornersville schools where he met his high school sweetheart, and future wife, Ada Lura Smith. He graduated in 1968, but not before accepting Christ as his Lord and savior at the age of eighteen. He went on to pursue an education degree from University of the Ozarks in Clarksville, Arkansas . He was beyond proud of this accomplishment and proudly wore a college class ring. During his youth and early adulthood, he enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals and coaching Hornersville Little League. He also enjoyed watching wrestling. Jerry King Lawler and Rick Flair were his favorites, and he could often be heard quoting Rick Flair saying, "To be the man, you've got to beat the man."

Buddy was a hard worker. He owned Moore's Auto Parts in Senath and spent many years working at Noranda then coming home to work at the store. He also loved gardening. He took pride in his work and was always proud of how well his garden produced. He loved sharing his vegetables and would proudly say, "That came out of MY garden." In his older years, as his health began to decline, he wasn't able to physically do the work but his family can attest he was still there to "supervise" what was being done in that garden and could usually be found wearing a straw hat of some sort and keeping a close eye on the action. Buddy was a great storyteller with lots of animation and always had some words of wisdom to share. There are many "Budisms" his friends and family can recall. He would often text these to his children and grandchildren and sometimes include fun emojis. Right, kids? Some of his most memorable quotes include the following:

This ain't my first rodeo.

Don't be afraid to go out on a limb, that's where the good fruit is found.

Old soup ain't bad if you heat it up.

Every dog has his day.

Every rose has it's thorn.

If you knew Buddy on a personal level, you are sure to have heard one of his many quotes, and it surely made you smile.

Buddy is survived by a host of people who love him. Those include the following:

His wife, the love of his life, Ada Moore. They were united in marriage in December 1970, and have spent fifty-three years together. He loved his Ada, Ada, sweet potato. When any of the grandkids would call, he loved saying he had her locked in the closet, knowing good and well he needed her too much to ever do that. She was an angel to him and took such wonderful care of him throughout these last years. Their undevoted love for each other is a testimony of how marriage should look.

Buddy was also a devoted father. He leaves one son, Christopher Matthew Moore, who is lovingly known to the family as "The Prince." Buddy spent many years outside playing ball with Chris and giving him the confidence to play a sport he loved. One of Chris's favorite memories is attending a Manila basketball game with his dad, who was a teacher/coach there. Buddy sent one of the players there over to Chris to give him a Snicker's bar, and because he didn't know him, Chris declined. Chris's wife, Kim (who proudly boasted she was the favorite daughter-in-law because she was the only one), and children, Matthew and Mollie were also fortunate to be loved by Pa Bud..

Daughter, Hope Danette Lane, and her husband, Brandon are also survivors. Hope is the boss of the bunch and gets things done. Buddy loved giving her tasks to complete, and she always managed to get it done. Hope and Brandon have five children who were loved by Pa, too. Those include:  Addie, Brennan, Lacey, Ty, and the baby of the grands, Loren Lane.

Daughter, Lori Brooke Burlison, and her husband, Daniel, survive. Brookie is the baby of the bunch and to hear Buddy tell it, she was full of spunk in her younger years. Their children include Garron, Jada, and Bryce, and an angel baby, Brooks Daniel Burlison who I'm sure Pa was thrilled to see.

Pa loved nothing better than watching his babies play ball and was sure to let everyone know they were the best! He was certainly their number one fan.
