Gary Allen McDonald, son of the late Carl "CK" McDonald and Lucille (Hanley) McDonald, was born May 24, 1942, in Paragould, Arkansas and departed this life on May 3, 2025, at the age of 82 years, 11 months and 9 days.  Gary married Yvonne Dortch on September 24, 1966 in Paragould. Yvonne preceded him in death on April 5, 2011.

Six grandchildren: Jeremy (Adrienne) Hyde of Jackson, Mo.,  Allison Dean, Bryson Neighbors, Noah Rains and Josh Neighbors all of Kennett and Maggie Pennington of Ripley, Tn., three great grandchildren: Colby Hyde of Jackson, Mo., Sutton Roberts and Scarlett Roberts of Kennett

Loving Sister: Carletta Boggs and husband Leonard of Jackson, Tn

Gary was preceded by his sister, Norma, who passed away at child birth

Gary graduated from ASU with a degree in agriculture and went on to teach 8th science, retiring from the Kennett Public School System. He also farmed for many years before retiring from agriculture.  Gary loved to watch and attend the St.Louis Cardinals baseball along with LSU & ASU football, with his family.

Visitation will be 11:00 am to 1:00 pm Friday, May 9, 2025 at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett. Funeral Services will be 1:00 pm at the McDaniel Chapel with Danny Boggs officiating.  Burial will follow in Linwood Cemetery in Paragould, Arkansas. Honored to serve as pallbearers: David Boggs, Brian McDonald, Jeremy Hyde, Bryson Neighbors, Gary Neighbors and Lance  Roberts. Honorary pallbearers: Colby Hyde, Allison Dean, Sutton Roberts, Scarlett Roberts, Noah Rains, Michael McLemore and Leonard Boggs.

McDaniel Funeral Service of Kennett will be in charge of the arrangements.
