Glenda "Gail" Smith, age 76 of Rolla, Missouri, died at her home surrounded by her family on December 7, 2020; after a 14-month battle with stomach cancer. She was born in her parents' home on December 6, 1944 at Nesbit, Missouri, the daughter of Carlos and Juanita (Deck) Jackson.

Gail grew up on a cotton farm at Beach Corner, Dunklin County, Missouri and graduated from the Senath High School. She worked most of her adult life as a bookkeeper. She was the best wife and mother a person could ask for, but she was even a better grandmother. She was an impeccable homemaker and an exceptional cook. Over the years she provided feasts fit for a King to her family and friends.

Surviving is her husband of 56 years Donnie O. Smith; her son Jason D. Smith and wife Jennifer A. Smith of Rolla; her grandson Lt. Cameron T. Smith, USN and wife Lauren A. Smith of Oak Harbor, Washington; brothers Sonny Jackson and wife Pam; Scottie Jackson and wife Lila all of Senath, Missouri; as well as an uncle, an aunt, and many nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by one daughter Bethany Jill Smith.

Cremation services are under the direction of Rolla Cremation. As per her final wishes there will be no services or memorials. With the assistance of McDaniel Funeral Service, a private burial will take place at a later date at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett, Missouri, where she will be laid to rest at the family plot by her daughter Jill.
