Obituary

Freda Mae Fowler, daughter of the late Gilbert Otis Fowler and Hazel (Brooks) Fowler was born July 25,1947 in Kennett, Missouri and departed this life on October 17, 2023 at the age of 76 years, 2 months and 22 days. at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.

Freda attended grades 1 thru 12 at Kennett Public Schools. After graduating from high school in 1965, Freda was hired at the University of Missouri Extension Center located in the Court House basement of Kennett.  In 1970, Freda left Kennett to attend Southwestern Junior College in Oklahoma City, Ok.

Freda moved to Memphis, Tn. in late 1971 for employment at Beneficial Finance, later worked at Ace Appliance, then Memphis Cap Company and then employed at McDowell Industries, Inc. and then retired early  from Shelby County Government in Memphis. Later she worked at the Arc Mid-South and then retired from the work force in July of 2012.

Freda's hobbies were reading, enjoying craft projects and creating tasty and beautiful chocolate 3-D and molded candies. Freda loved coke, home cooking and chocolate candy.  Freda enjoyed decorating her home for the holidays, loved Christmas & Easter most, loved watching animal planet with the kids in the family, watching home shopping network & QVC. She loved crime shows and talked back to commercials

Freda was of Memphis and a member of Willow Oaks Pentecostal Church in Memphis.

Survivors include:

Nieces: Vickie Branum, Kim, JoAnn (Gary) Pritchett, Lisa Fowler, Jo Ann Fowler, nephews: Greg and Gilbert Pinkley and Jimmy (Kerri) Fowler. Great nieces: Angie, Rene and Katie Branum, Beverly (Brian) Jones, Cassie (Rickey) Bratton, and Gracie Pritchett, Britney, Michelle, R.J. and Erica: Great nephews: Conner and Nathaniel Fowler, Jamie Branum, L.J. (Jack) McLaughlin and Christopher McLaughlin and Brad Allen Pinkley.  Great great nephews and Nieces: Alexis, Kayla, Devin, Sammy, JR., Garrett, Luella, Theo, Easton, McKenzie and Ava, brother-in-law: Sam Pinkley  and long time best friend: Debbie Underwood., Other relatives and friends.

Freda was preceded in death by her brother: Emory Fowler, two sisters: Lola Pinkley and Jessie Fowler, Aunts: Opal Bass, Nellie Taylor and Lizzie Brooks.

Graveside services will be 12:00 noon Thursday, October 19, 2023 at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Kennett will Reverend Chris Johnson officiating.

McDaniel Funeral Service of Kennett will be in charge of the arrangements.
