Eulish E. "Doke" Weatherly was born in Hackleburg, Alabama on August 1, 1931 to Monny Lester Weatherly and Eugie Mitt Gregg Weatherly. He went to his heavenly home on November 20, 2017 in Jonesboro, Arkansas at the age of 86 years.
They moved to Deering, Missouri in 1939, from there to Peach Orchard, Missouri and later to Gideon, Missouri. He graduated from Gideon High School in 1950 as valedictorian of his class.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp. from 1952 to 1956. Before the branch discontinued to form the U.S. Air Force.
He married Wanda Faye Holt on September 12, 1950 in Piggott, Arkansas. A son, Michael Stephen Weatherly was born August 22, 1953 in Albuquerque ,New Mexico and a daughter Sharon Faye Weatherly was born July 29, 1956 in Kennett, Missouri.
Doke and Wanda owned and operated Jones Office Supply in Kennett, Missouri for many years before their retirement. During retirement built and refinished furniture.
He is survived by his wife: Wanda, of 67 years. Grandchildren: Amie Lynn Weatherly, Kennett, Missouri, Lauren Weatherly McDaniel and husband Nogi of Steele, Missouri, Heather Lea Ann Campbell Maddox and Ashley Campbell McGuirk of Cape Girardeau, Missouri and Michael Weatherly of Kennett, Missouri. Seven great grand-children, two sisters: Imogene Bennett of Gillette ,Wy and Wilodene Moore and Tommy of Knoxville, Tennessee, Two brother-in-laws: Lawrence Lee Holt of Bella Vista, Arkansas and Tommy Holt and Charlyn of Dexter, Missouri. Sister-in-law: Joann Weatherly of Cape Girardeau, Missouri and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by one son Michael Stephen Weatherly and daughter Sharon Faye Rouviere. His parents, Monny Lester Weatherly and Eugie Mitt Gregg Weatherly, two brothers: Monny Lester Weatherly, JR. and James Durward Weatherly, sister-in-laws Ruby Cooley, Anna Ruth Holt, brother-in-laws, Dub Cooley and Wyman Bennett.
Duke was an active member of First Baptist Church in Kennett, Missouri where he served as a deacon. They loved driving a bus to transport children to and from Bible school as well as treasurer work and standing usher. He was very kind to everyone and was a very gentle, loving man. Love for his Savior first, then his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him
Memorial Services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, November 25, 2017 at the McDaniel Chapel in Kennett, Missouri. Reverend Ardell Polk officiating.
McDaniel Funeral Service of Kennett, Missouri will be in charge of the arrangements.
