Elizabeth Jane Jarrett was escorted by angels to her eternal home on the 24th day of April 2025 at the age of 84 years 10 months and 18 days.

She was born on June 6, 1940 to Arvel and Katie Carnell in Meadon, Tennessee. She was the 3rd of 8 children. Arvell Carnell, Kenneth (Shirley) Carnell of Sikeston, Missouri, Edward (Carolyn) Carnell of Kennett, Phil (Erma) Carnell of Kennett, Nancy (Wincle) Parker of Kennett, Tony (Marcia) Carnell of Kennett, Sharon (Joel) Montgomery of Kennett.

She married Cecil E. Smith in Crossroads, Arkansas on December 9, 1956. From their love they had 4 children. Steve (Anita) Smith, Roger (Teresa) Smith, Lisa (Donnie) Jones and Brandon (Candia) Smith all of Kennett. They were blessed with 8 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandbabies.

She was proceeded in death by her husband of 36 years Cecil E. Smith, husband of 17 years Charles Galbraith, husband of 4 years Glenn Jarrett. Parents: Arvel and Katie Carnell. Brothers: Arvel, Edward, Phil, and Kenneth Carnell. Sister: Nancy Parker, nephews: Shane and Phillip Carnell and cousin: Ray Ivy.

At the age of 12 she gave her heart to our wonderful Savior Jesus Christ. She was a dedicated prayer warrior and preacher of His word. God blessed her with the beautiful talent of singing, playing the piano, organ and guitar. She loved to sew, crochet and make woodcrafts. She became a cosmetologist in early 1980, which she enjoyed for many years.

She leaves behind a legacy of Love and Compassion. If anyone needed anything she would be the first to give from her heart. She deeply loved her children, grandchildren, family and friends. She will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be 1:00 PM-2:00 PM Saturday, April 26, 2025 at McDaniel Funeral Service in Kennett. Services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, April 26, 2025 at McDaniel Chapel in Kennett with Rev. Thresa Lawson officiating. Burial in the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Kennett. Honored to serve as pallbearers are: Scott Jones, Matthew Jones, Chris Smith, Jacob Smith, Logan Jones and Dawson Smith.
