Doug loved sports-baseball, hunting and fishing, but especially baseball like his grandfather, Kimball Swindle.  Doug signed with the Houston Astros at the age of 17 as a pitcher. After his baseball career, Doug was an insurance salesman in Missouri and Arkansas. He eventually went to work for Nucor in Blytheville, Arkansas.

He is survived by his son Austin Jackson, mother Phyllis Jackson, sister Lisa Simon, brothers Jeff and Steve Jackson, 5 nieces and 2 nephews.

Doug was preceded in death by his father Jerry Jackson and sister Laura Keathly.

A memorial service will be at McDaniel Funeral Home, Senath, Missouri on Monday, December 14, 2020 at 1:00 pm for family and friends. Masks are respectfully requested.
