Dorothy Ann "Nanny" Nelson, daughter of the late Willard Killian and Elizalee Amick Killian, was born February 18, 1956, in Paragould, Arkansas and departed this life on October 13, 2025, at the age of 69 years, 7 months and 25 days. Dorothy married Johnny Wayne Nelson  April 1971. He preceded her in death on February 4, 2023.

Son: John Nelson (Emily) of Kennett, MO

Daughter: Laura Carter of Kennett

Brother: Darrell of Sikeston, MO

Sister: Brenda of Kennett

Three grandchildren Dillon (Dustye) Swindle, Tyler (Brianna) Swindle, Adelynn Nelson (Zach Smith) and six great grandchildren

Other relatives and many friends

Dorothy was preceded in death by five brothers, and five sisters

Visitation will be 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM Thursday, October 16, 2025 at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett with Funeral Services at 2:00 PM October 16, 2025 at the McDaniel Chapel with Pastor Waylon Tom and officiating. Burial will follow  in Gregory Cemetery in Kennett. Honored to serve as pallbearers:  Dillon and Tyler Swindle, Zach Smith, Josh Callis, Dylan Leslie and Craig Nelson.

McDaniel Funeral Service of Kennett will be in charge of the arrangements.
