Dorothy Ann "Joan" Butler, daughter of the late Bobby Lee Akers and Mary Katherine (Bridges) Akers. was born February 9, 1953 in Dunklin County, Missouri and departed this life on June 25, 2023, at the age of 70 years, 4 months and 16 days. Joan married Jimmie Butler on June 5, 1971 in Kennett.

Joan was Owner of Butler Floor Service in Kennett.

Her Husband: Jim Butler of Kennett, Missouri

Son:  Jimmie Don (Tina) Butler II, of Kennett

Daughter: Chasity (Shannon) Sams of Kennett

Five Grandchildren: Ronald Hamlett, Hunter Hamlett, Savannah Butler, Hayden Watson and Leighton Watkins

Two Sisters: Robin (Jeff) Pickett of Kennett

Julie Ann (Panagiotis) Purputidis of Kennett

Brother: Bobby Ray (Sandra) Akers of St. Louis

Visitation will be 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at the McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett.  Funeral Services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at McDaniel Chapel in Kennett with Reverend Dennis Baker officiating. Honored to serve as pallbearers: Jimmie Don Butler II, Lance Davis, Vellos Purputidis, Paul Spain, Dennis Hamlett and Marty Cato. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kennett.

McDaniel Funeral Service of Kennett will be in charge of the arrangements.
