Obituary

Donna Sue (Brents) Nail, daughter of the late Lawson and Opal Brents, was born
January 6, 1952, in Kennett, Mo., and departed this life November 18, 2025, at the age
of 73 years. Donna married Dennis Nail on January 24, 1970. Donna was a member of
Varner River Baptist Church.

After Dennis and Donna moved to Kennett, she was employed by the Kennett Savings
and Loan. Later, she was hired by the Kennett School District as secretary to the
Director of Elementary Education. She then served as secretary to the Kennett
Superintendent and Board of Education before health issues forced her to retire. While
employed by the school district, she was highly respected by everyone and noted for
bringing credit to the school district, and her exemplary professionalism.

She loved her role as wife, mother, and grandmother. She was devoted to her husband
and supported him during his 31 years as band director, attending many band concerts
and football games during that time. She was extremely proud of the accomplishments of
Leslie and David, and absolutely adored her grandchildren. They will have many
memories of "coloring, playing games, learning about Jesus, and attending their school
events." They will also remember longing to get to Grammy's house for, in their words,
her "gourmet meals." As her health deteriorated, she compensated for not being able to
make as many trips, physically, by enjoying regular "face-time" calls. An example of her
intention of having someone present for some of those important events was insisting
Dennis make the trip to New York City this last summer to see Presley perform at
Carnegie Hall.

Donna spent her lifetime putting the needs of others above those of her own. She loved
visiting family and friends during sickness, often spending hours at nursing homes,
despite the fact she, herself, was often experiencing severe pain. She sent cards and
letters on a regular basis. One of her greatest sadnesses was recently having to miss
Mary Jayne Fincher's Sunday School Class. Evidence of how highly-regarded and loved
by others were the many cards she received from several area church groups.

She is survived by:
